How to get 350 free Battle Stars from the Fortnitemares challenges in Fortnite

It's insanely easy.

Update Oct. 28 12:30pm CT: Epic Games addressed the bug with these Fortnitemares challenges and released a fix. The challenges will now award XP, as intended, instead of Battles Stars.

The third set of free challenges for Fortnite: Battle Royale’s Halloween-themed event, Fortnitemares, became available this morning. And the last task is an easy progressive challenge that will give players a ton of free Battle Stars to help them level up their Battle Pass.

All of the previous Fortnitemares challenges awarded XP, but the last task in part three has three stages—and two of them award Battle Stars.

Stage one of the progressive challenge tasks you with visiting Wailing Woods five times. Once you’ve done this, you’ll earn 150 XP and unlock stage two, which is where things get really interesting.

For stage two, all you have to do is visit Fatal Fields once. When you do this, you’ll be awarded 150 Battle Stars. No, this is not a joke—you’ll really get 150 free Battle Stars simply for traveling to Fatal Fields.

But it gets better.

The third and final stage of this challenge tasks players with visiting Haunted Hills once. If you do this, you’ll get 200 free Battle Stars. Again, we’re not kidding.

So, as long as you complete the Wailing Woods aspect of this progressive challenge, you can get 350 free Battle Stars simply by visiting Fatal Fields and Haunted Hills.

Thank you, Epic Games, and happy Fortnitemares. It’s important to note, however, that this could be a bug. We’ll update this article if more information becomes available.
